General information for classes, prices, registration, privates, etc

Spring classes run in a 9 week session
 January 11- March 12

Second session is a 7 week session 
March 22-May 7 

   Students do not have to particpate in both sessions, they can choose to do one session or both.

At the conclussion of each session, depending on enrollment, we can do a "parents invite day" for class or a "student showcase" day for all classes.  This will be an option for the parents.

Charges listed below are all inclusive including registration, class, taxes, and all fees.  There are no hidden cost or fees during the semester.

Intermediate (ages 7-11) Performance "So You Think You Can Dance"-technique with Various Vulcan Performers Professional Dancers- Dance Styles class ----

5-6 yr old intro to dance styles/hip hop


Special topics classes can be purchased that will include a 5 week session in Ballet, a 5 week class in Tap, and a 5 week class in Acting/Drama. Special topics classes will be on Tuesday or Thursdays from 5-6pm and will be $65 each student.  These will be announced in May

Call for any classes you do not see.  We will be glad to add additional times with commitments of Five or more kids.  Classes to consider can be tap, ballet, older kids classes.  Requests have also been made for Tuesday Tap and Tuesday Ballet for the Intermediate ages.  Requests have also been made to move the preschool time up 1 hour to 1pm.  These are all options to consider.

Also, for extra instruction or futher study, consider private lessons:

Semi Privates $40 for 40 minutes ($20 per student)

Class Descriptions
 Mommy and Me (or dad/grandparents and me) will feature a gender neutral format that will enhance your child's coordination and movement.  We will play games, sing songs, encourage the kids to move, and give the children a fun appreciation for music and dance.  We will also do interactive movements/exercises involving both the children and parents.

As they move into the preschool age group, we still encourage the parents to attend.  There will be less interaction with the parents, but this age group tends to do better with a parent attending.  This is not required, but encouraged when possible.  The kids will learn basic dance skills and positions, but will still have games, singing, etc to encourage their creativity.  The class is gender netural and attracts both boys and girls.  The music ranges from popular Nick/Disney tunes to kids bop.


The 5-6 year old program begins to structure class in a way to prepare the kids for material.  They will learn into to basic dance skills, basic stretches, basic movements, but still retain some of the games to enourage their creativity.  This class emphasizes learning, but there is still a lot of musical fun that is appropriate for the age group.  The class is gender netural and attracts both boys and girls.  The music ranges from popular Nick/Disney tunes to kids bop.  For boys and girls, this is an excellent coordination and flexibility builder to give your child a head start in athletics.

Our hip hop programs focus on the "cleaner" side of hip hop that emphasizes a children performance style which is popular with Nickelodeon, Disney (High School Musical/Hannah Montana), and other kids' performances.  This is not a Bboy style breakdancing class.  Kids will learn solid dance fundamentals of the hip hop persuasion.  Classes will also include drills, stretching, as well as choreography.  We do not teach acrobatic tricks, headspins, aerial movements, and other dangerous stunts.  Any students wishing to learn this style can enroll in private lessons with one of our professional Bboy style breakdancers.

Our jazz programs will focus on a classic style jazz consistent with broadway style performance and "old school" entertainment.  There will be en emphasis on drills, technique, lines, flexibility and other things to improve their dancing.  Stretching drills will also be run each class.  This is an excellent class for students wishing for a future in dance team, show choir, theater, performance, coordination for athletics, etc.

Our tap program will also focus on classic style tap combinations and also incorporate some jazz stylings.  Although there will be some "street tap rhythms" the tap will be sonsistent with show style and follow a technical format.  Because there is so much footwork and timing involved, this is another excellent class for boys and girls pursuing athletics.

Studio owner, Wendy Zito, has a degree from the University of Alabama in Child Development and teaches the kids classes.   Besides being a professional ballroom dancer, nationally ranked west coast swing dancers, and  artistic director of the Vulcan Performers professional dance organization, she has over 20 years of ballet, tap, jazz, hip hip, and other dance styles.   She is a 5 time national ballroom showdance finalist, current ranked showcase west coast swing competitor, and has produced/danced 10 professional dance shows in Birmingham with the Vulcan Performers.

Many of the Vulcan Performers professional dance organization also assists with the kids classes.
